Jenny Ahn : While traveling in India, I met one of my first teachers, Rudra Dev,devoted yogi and student/teacher of Iyengar. His rigorous classes focusing on alignment brought about a deeper understanding for discipline, concentration, and balance into my practice. Currently in the 2nd half of the 500 hour Teacher Training program at Yogaworks, First studying with Birgitta Kristen and John Gaydos, now mentoring with Jeanne Heileman. Jeanne has shown me the importance of not only the physical aspect of yoga, but the subtle body aspect, and incorporating meditation, pranayama, and ayurveda to deepen the awareness of one-Self. Most of all, a recent injury has been a blessing in disguise and being able to apply yoga to the experience has helped me realize that we are our own healers, and that the physical body is merely a tool to moving deeper within to finding our true Selves. Through practice of self-awareness, one can find true happiness in just Being. "....and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people to do the same. As we liberate ourselves from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"-Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugurable Speech. |
| Our studio benefits greatly from the contribution of our Karma Yogis. They maintain our studios cleanliness, sattvic atmosphere, and friendly environment. All of us benefit greatly from their contributions. |
